Digital work
I work with designers and developers on hundreds of digital projects a year. Examples include news stories (What unites us and Prison) to magazine pieces (Pride and The Endless Call ) to exploratory feature pieces (Science of the Arts, The Visitors and Poetry).
Art direction
I oversee art direction at The Philadelphia Inquirer. Previously, I coached art directors at The Post on artwork, animation and illustrated typography. The staff commissioned more than 400 pieces per year from artists around the world.
Magazine
Until 2022, The Post produced a weekly magazine dedicated to news, politics, features, photography and illustrations. In 2017, I oversaw a redesign bringing in a new, bolder Postoni font, more artwork and a deeper visual tone.
Virtual reality / film
“12 seconds of gunfire: The true story of a school shooting” is a virtual reality experience that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2019. The story is an immersive 360-degree film with original art, writing and audio.
Director / art director / script editor
I oversee designers on news sections, features pages and special projects at The Philadelphia Inquirer. The newspaper underwent a redesign in 2021 in collaboration with Pentagram. At The Post, I helped lead 45+ designers in a similar fashion.
Digital / book
“The Mueller Report Illustrated: The Obstruction Investigation” brings to life the findings of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III in an engaging digital presentation. It was also published as a graphic novel.

Passion projects
I love coming up with new ways to inform readers. For these stories, I write or edit the pieces and work with designers and editors on the build. See examples with From a restricted Italy, Doom-scrolling, Art and music, 100,000 deaths and Oscar posters.
Luxury magazine
As the creative director of bay magazine from its inception in 2008 to 2014, I worked with photographers, photo editors and writers to produce high-end visuals for the Tampa Bay Times publication. The bimonthly magazine featured fashion, homes and art.
Newsletter series
Bold School, a 12-week newsletter, aims to nourish, inform and stimulate the 55+ generation, all while helping readers save time and money. I co-authored the series, talking about loss, fashion and the workplace.
